Save time with official skip-the-line tickets, and discover the museum's extraordinary collection with our expert, private guides. Ask them all the questions you might have - they'll be at your disposal throughout the whole visit!

This experience is part of Iconic Insiders, a selection of tours designed for first-time visitors to uncover what matters and get oriented in a new city. Your destination insider is a licensed guide who will offer recommendations and highlight the most visually attractive places of the itinerary.

In case you didn't know, the gallery was established in 1784 by Grand Duke Pietro Leopoldo di Lorena next to the ancient Academy of Art and Design, with the aim of positioning sculptural models that students could study and reproduce.

Today, the museum houses the largest collection of sculptures by Michelangelo in the world, including the iconic David, the Prisoners and San Matteo. In addition, here you will find the single largest collection of gold-background paintings and also the Museum of musical instruments.
