On the tour, you will learn about the Soviet history of the Prussian residential city, the Potsdam Allied Conference of 1945, the Cold War, the Berlin Wall and the infamous Bridge of Spies.
Potsdam is a small but immensely historic city - together with Berlin it was the Prussian center of power. Not without reason, it was of enormous importance to the Soviets.
The private Potsdam city tour starts at the main train station and leads to the historical center of the city at the Alter Markt, which was heavily destroyed during World War II. Then you will walk through the city center to the city's Soviet Cemetery of Honor at Bassinplatz. From there, you will take a bus to Cecilienhof Palace and the " Neuer Garten", the site of the Potsdam Conference. Afterwards you will visit the military town No. 7 and the world-famous "Bridge of Spies". Here agents were exchanged between East and West during the Cold War. The bridge was one of the most famous symbols of the German division, because it was located in the border strip of the Berlin Wall.
